First things first, I am retired.  Well, almost.

These days I am almost completely handicapped.

I no longer work for a living.  It seems my doctors just don't like the idea of my making a living anymore.  And believe me, when I WAS working, I made good money.

Enough to raise a family on a single income.  Many years I paid the max in SS taxes.

So my Social Security Disability is more than twice the average.

I am a former member of the Broward County School Board.  Hence my expertise of opinion on education issues.

I am still quite active in Sunrise politics.  Active enough to have changed the course of the city over the last fifteen years.

I am currently Chair of the Sunrise Planning & Zoning Board.

I am a former Vice Chair of the Sunrise Economic Development Board.

I am former Vice Chair of the County's Value Adjustment Board.

I am President of the Central Sunrise Residents Association.

I am a member of the County's Transit Advisory Board.

I have been Chair of my children's School Advisory Forum.

Needless to say, I have my finger squarely on the pulse of the community.

Some people will tell you that I don't count.  Sucks to be them.

Seems they forget that I've done campaign strategies that have defeated incumbents and retained others in what were losing battles.

Oh, yes.  I am a registered Democrat and past President of the Sunrise Democratic Club.

But I am NOT active in party politics. Too many of my fellow Democrats have little or no tolerance for views other than their own.  It works both ways; I have little or no tolerance for them, either.  Oh, their views are just that, but it's THEM I have no tolerance for. No sweat.  I have more than enough to occupy both my time and opinion.

Me?  Like Will Rogers; "I'm not a member of any organized party.  I'm a Democrat."
